Would You Give Up Your Life For A Friend?
You may have heard the popular saying “No greater gift than to lay down your life for a friend.” This is very true and I don’t think it means that you should die literally. If that was the case, who would really do that? I’m sure it wouldn’t be many!! I would bet that most of the people that say they would now would disappear if the situation presents itself!
I think this means that we should be able to lay down our busy schedules and personal goals to help a friend out. Doing this in today’s society is just as hard as volunteering to die literally. No one wants to do it because we have so much going on. The truth of the matter is we live in very selfish times. Everyone seems to only be concerned about themselves, and only help others when they feel they can get something out of it. If this is you point blank in my opinion you’re a dirtbag!!
One of the guys that have been a huge part of the team from the beginning, is now going through a serious life crisis. Many members of the team have been watching out for him for a while now. About two weeks ago he was sent to Mexico to get the help that he needed. He has been having problems since he has been there, to the point where they want to send him home. I thought the other night before bed that if he needed someone to be there with him I should offer to go, because this could be his last chance. If it were me I would want someone to help me if I got to the point where I couldn’t help myself.
The next day I mention to Master Lloyd that I would go if needed, since he and Ed Clay has been the main people coordinating this rescue. This morning he called and said I need you go to Mexico now it’s an emergency! I went home got my passport and quickly packed. Master Lloyd bought the ticket and Ed Clay made the arrangements for someone to pick me up In Mexico. I’m supposed to fly back with him tomorrow. I’m hoping that when I get there I will be able to convince the program to give him another chance with my supervision. I’m praying for a miracle!
I’m sure everyone involved could’ve found other things to do with their time or money. In my opinion there is nothing better to do with it than this. There is a parable that says if you have ten precious golden coins and you lose one; wouldn’t you tear up your home looking for that one? So, the next time someone truly needs your help take the time to attempt to help them. You never know, it might be the only coin they have left before they cash out on life!
