The Unknown Warrior Leaves Mississippi
Moving takes a lot of energy. You never realize there is so much junk in a house until you are moving. On top of that, I have gotten approximately six hours of sleep this past week. I can’t wait until this is all over!!!
I have been staying up longer than usual because I’m trying to figure everything out with my website. I am so computer illiterate. I had to learn how to put video on YouTube, render the video, use a blog, work with Twitter, and so on! I hope I catch on to all this pretty soon. At this rate, I won’t have time to train (LOL).
We went to bed just after 4am. I get awakened a little before six because Leslie decides she wants to have a garage sale!!! It was crazy! People were really coming out that early in the morning bargaining from a dollar fifty cents to a dollar? I was thinking, “Are they serious?” Leslie was really excited since this was her first garage sale. For some reason it didn’t matter to her that the wad of money she was showing was all ONES!!! Not to mention half of it was the change I had gotten at six a.m. I was driving to gas stations asking them to give me change for the garage sale! Huh? SLEEP PLEASE!!
We later started loading the U-Haul. Everyone kept saying that everything would not fit in the truck. I knew everything would fit if we packed it right. I worked at UPS for seven yrs total while supervising for five years. With that said, the funny thing is that the two guys helping me load the truck worked there too. One of them still works there. It was so funny because they would try to put a box in a spot and say it won’t fit. I would say loud and hyper, “You guys are looking but you can’t see!” (LOL) Then I would turn the box and make it fit. I think this happens every day in life. People don’t move past their current places or they become stagnate because they lack vision. In my opinion, vision is the ability to imagine and see past circumstances that are physically visible to the naked eye. I don’t think one can achieve greatness until he or she is able to work toward and believe their vision more than their current circumstances.
I took a break from loading to mow the back yard. When I finished I noticed that they had already loaded the fridge, washer, and dryer before putting the last bit of smaller things on as we had agreed to earlier. Even though I’m saying this because it’s what happen, I really appreciate Lamont and Jeremiah’s hard work. We kept saying we wish we had them when we unloaded. Back to the current situation, this left us with the problem of trying to figure out how to put the chairs & bar stools on. Luckily, my dad came by and arranged them quickly in some type of way we had never seen and then said, “Is that it?” (lol) That reminded me of something he always said to me as a child. “Improvise and adapt and you will overcome any situation!” Boy, were we glad he came because he also gave me a quick tutorial on how to drive the U-Haul with a trailer attacked.
The drive took us 23hrs plus 7hrs to unload when we got there. Boy I wish we had Jeremiah & Lamont! They know how to work!! Check out the video of us leaving below.
