I Got Beat By A Kid!!!

     Why do kids learn so much faster than adults? There has to be a good reason for this. I trained my nephew for a little over a month and he learned a lot faster than I did. Honestly, it has taken me ages to learn the simplest of things.

      If I had to guess I would have to say it has something to do with how they think or don’t think as much. Let me explain. Children seem to be so impressionable. They are always ready to imitate someone. Just last weekend, Leslie’s niece spent the night. Before she came over, she spent the day with her grandmother. She said, “I want to be just like my grandma! But I don’t want to smoke. I want to wears wigs, black boots and drink coffee all day!” LOL! So, when Leslie picked her up, she had on a wig that her grandmother had given her and makeup! (lol)

     When kids are interested in something they just imitate immediately. When we are interested we analyze before we try to do it, because we have past experiences that we can compare things too. This alone puts them steps ahead of us because they just do. They are like empty chalk boards ready to be written on. We are like chalk boards that are already full. We spend a lot of time trying to figure out what we are going to erase to make room for new info or if we need to erase anything at all. Most of the time we try to incorporate it in some type of way. Other times we just add what we think is most important and throw away the rest. We also worry about how it’s going to turn out. This adds extra stress, when kids have none they just want to have fun.

     The bottom line is if we compare how long it’s taken me to learn compared to my nephew, he seriously kicked my butt!!! I included a video below of him working out with me the day before I head back to Maryland. I told you guys before that the worst part of me leaving would be that I won’t be able to spend time with my nephews! On my way to take him home, I told him and his brother that I was going to miss them. Tears immediately began to fall. I didn’t know where they came from because that’s so not like me! I usually can hide a thing like that. (lol) You know I always MAN UP! He acted as if he didn’t see it, but im sure he did! Durn it!!!
